Many people believe that social networking sites (such as Facebook) have had a huge negative impact on individuals and society. To what extent do you agree?

In my opinion social netwarking sites like facebood hav had big bad effects on people and socity. I agree with this view to the lardge extent. Firstly, this sites can be very addicting and waste a lot of time. Many peoples, especially young, spend hours and hours every day on facebook insted of doing importanter things. They are always cheking for new posts and messages, even when they should be studying or spending time with there familys. This addiction can lead to bad grades, problems at work, and neglecting important relashonships. Secondly, social media has made it eazy for false informations and rumors to spread quickly. People can post whatever they want without checking if it is true. This has led to a lot of mis information and even hate speach online. It is hard for many people to know what to believe, and this can cause confusion and devision in society. In conclusion, while social networking sites have some benefits, I believe that overall they have had a negative impact. They can be addicting and spread false informations, which is bad for individuals and society as a hole. If we want to fix these problems, we need to find ways to use these sites more responsably.

Whether or not someone achieves their aims is mostly a question of luck. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In this essay I am going to discuss about the question of if achieving aims are mostly because luck. There are evidences and examples to support both sides of agrument. On the one hand, many people may say that luck are the main factor in success. For example, someone who was born in a rich family will have more chances to be successful, because they can get better education and have more opportunities. They may also have connections and network that can help them in their career. In contrast, someone who was born in a poor family will have to work much harder to achieve their goals, and even if they work hard, they may not be able to succeed because of lack of resources and support. However, I believe that hard work and determination are more important than luck in achieving aims. Even if someone is lucky to have good opportunities, they still need to work hard to take advantage of those opportunities. For example, if a student have the chance to go to a good university, they still need to study hard and get good grades in order to graduate and get a good job. If they do not put in the effort, they will waste the opportunity and not achieve their aims. In addition, there are many examples of people who have achieved great success despite having difficult circumstances. For instance, there are many entrepreneurs who started with nothing but through hard work and perseverance, they were able to build successful businesses. There are also many people who have overcomed poverty and other challenges to become successful in their fields. These examples show that luck is not the only factor in achieving success. In conclusion, while luck can play a role in achieving aims, I believe that hard work and determination are more important. People who rely too much on luck may not put in the necessary effort to succeed, while those who work hard and persevere can overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

We have become a disposable society, preferring to buy new products rather than fixing existing items. What are the causes of this trend and what are the possible solutions?

In today's world, it has been observed that people are more likely to replace their old items with new ones instead of repairing them. This trend has led to a disposable society, which can have significant consequences for the environment and our resources. In this essay I will explore causes of this trend and suggest some possible solutions to address it. One of the main reason for this trend is the increasing availability and affordability of new products. With advances in technology and mass production, it has become easier and cheaper to buy new items than to repair old ones. For example, it may be cheaper to buy a new smartphone than to fix a broken screen or replace a battery on an old one. This has led to a culture of consumerism, where people are encouraged to constantly upgrade their possessions and discard their old ones. Another factor contributing to this trend is the planned obsolescence of many products. Manufacturers often design products with a limited lifespan or with non-replaceable parts, so that consumers will need to buy new ones after a certain period of time. This is especially true for electronic devices such as laptops and printers, which may become outdated or stop functioning properly after a few years. This practice encourages people to constantly replace their items rather than fixing them, leading to more waste and environmental damage. To address this issue, there are several possible solution that can be implemented. One approach is to promote a culture of repair and reuse, by encouraging people to fix their old items instead of throwing them away. This can be done through education and awareness campaigns, as well as by providing incentives for repair services and secondhand markets. Governments and businesses can also play a role by supporting initiatives that promote sustainable consumption and waste reduction. Another solution is to regulate planned obsolescence and encourage manufacturers to design products that are more durable and repairable. This can be achieved through regulations and standards that require products to have longer lifespans and replaceable parts. Consumers can also put pressure on companies by choosing to buy products that are designed to last and can be easily repaired. In conclusion, the trend towards a disposable society has significant implications for our environment and resources. To address this issue, we need to promote a culture of repair and reuse, and encourage manufacturers to design products that are more sustainable and repairable. By taking these steps, we can reduce waste and ensure that our resources are used more efficiently and responsibly.

The tendency that news reports in media focus on problems and emergencies rather than on positive developments is harmful for individuals and the society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In this modern days we can sees that many of the medias are focus more on negative news like problems and emergencies rather then positive news. I am agree that this tendensy is harmfull for the individuals and sociaty as a whole. Firstly, when people are constantly exposed to negativity news, it can has a detremental effect to their mental healths. For example, if someone is always reading about crimes, natural disaster, and other bad news, they may started to felling anxious and depressed. This can leads to stresses and other helth issues, which is bad for individual. Moreover, focusing on negativity news can also create a sense of fears and mistrust in sociaty. When peoples are bombared with stories about crimes and conflicts, they may started to view the world as dangeros and hostile place. This can leads to decrease in sociel cohesion and increase in tensions between different grups. On the other hands, if medias were to focus more on positive developements, it could has a beneficial effect on individuals and sociaty. Positive news can inspires people and give them hopes for the future. It can also promotes a sense of unity and cooperasion, as people see that there are goods things happening in the world. In conclusions, I am strongly agree that the tendencys of medias to focus on negativity news is harmfull for individuals and society. It is important for medias to strives for a more balance approach, highlighting both the chalanges and the positive developements in the world. Only then we can creates a more positive and hopefull sociaty.

Today single-use products are still very common. Why is this? What are the problems associated with this?

Nowadays, single used products are becoming more and more popular in our society. There are many reasons behind this trend and it causes several issues. In this essay i will discuss about why the single-use items are so common these days and what kind of problems they can bring. Firstly, the main reason why disposable products are everywhere is because they are very convenient to use. For example, when peoples go to supermarket, they can easily find the disposable plates, cups and cutlery which are ready to use without needing to wash. Moreover, this kind of produts are usually very cheap so many people can afford to buy them without spending too much money. As a result, the demand for single-use items is increasing rapidly. However, the widespread use of disposable products can lead to serious problems. One of the biggest issue is that they generate a huge amount of waste. Most of the single use products are made from plastic, which is not biodegradable and can take hundreds of years to decompose. This means that if we keep using and throwing away these products, it will cause severe damage to our environment. Additionally, the production of disposable items also consumes a lot of resources such as oil and water, which puts pressure on our planet's limited natural resources. In conclusion, although single-use products bring convenience to our life, we need to be aware of the negative impacts they can have on our environment. It is important for us to reduce the usage of disposable items and switch to more eco-friendly alternatives. Only by doing this, we can protect our planet for the future generations.

In the future, more people will choose to go on holiday in their own country and not travel abroad on holiday. Do you agree or disagree?

I am agree with the statement that in future more people will choose to go holiday in their own country instead of travel to other countries. There are several reason for this trend. Firstly, traveling to other countries can be very expensive. The cost of flight tickets, accommodation, and other expenses can add up quickly. On the other hand, holidaying in your own country is much cheaper. You can save money on transportation and find affordable places to stay. This is especially important for families or people with limited budgets. Secondly, explore your own country can be just as exciting as going abroad. Many people do'nt realize the beauty and diversity of their own country. There are often many interesting places to visit and things to see that they have never experienced before. By holidaying in their own country, people can discover new cultures, try different foods, and see amazing landscapes without ever leaving their borders. Finally, traveling within your own country is often more convenient and less stressful than going abroad. You dont need to worry about language barriers, cultural differences, or getting lost in an unfamiliar place. You can easily communicate with locals and navigate your way around. Plus, you can often take your own car or use public transportation, which is more comfortable than dealing with airports and flights. In conclusion, I believe that more and more people will choose to holiday in their own country in the future due to the many benefits it offers. From saving money to discovering new places and avoiding stress, there are many reasons why exploring your own backyard can be just as rewarding as traveling to foreign lands.

You eat at your college cafeteria every lunch time. However, you think it needs some improvements. Write a letter to the college magazine. In your letter, explain what you like about the cafeteria say what is wrong with it suggest how it could be improved

Dear Editors of College Magazine, I am writing this letter to express my thoughts about our college cafeteria. I eat there every lunch time, and while there are some good things I like about it, I also believe there is room for improvements. First of all, let me say what I appreciate about the cafeteria. The food is usually fresh and tasty, with a decent variety of dishes to choose from each day. I particularly enjoy the salad bar, which always has crisp vegetables. The staff are friendly and work hard to keep the place clean and tidy. However, there are few issues I think need to be addressed. One problem is the long lines during peak hours. Sometimes I have to wait for 15 minutes or more just to get my food, which cuts into my lunch break. Another issue is the limited seating space. The cafeteria can get quite crowded, and it's often difficult to find a place to sit with my friends. To improve the situation, I have a some suggestions. Perhaps the cafeteria could open additional serving lines during the busiest times to reduce wait times. Introducing a pre-ordering system could help too, so students can pick up there meals quickly. As for seating, rearranging the tables and chairs to create more space, or adding some extra furniture, would make a big difference. I hope the college will consider these ideas. I believe these changes would make the cafeteria experience much better for everyone. Sincerely, A Concerned Student

Some people think that sports should be included in the school curriculum while others think there should be academic training only. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

On the one hand, some believes sports should be part of school learning. They think that physical activity are important for student health and wellbeing. Sports can help students stay fit and develop important skill like teamwork, discipline, and leadership. For example, playing on a soccer team teach kids how to work together towards a common goal and how to handle win and loses gracefully. In addition, sports can be a fun and engaging way for students to take a break from academic classes and refresh their mind. On the other hand, others argues that schools should focus solely on academics training. They believe that the main purpose of school is to prepare students for future careers and higher education, which requires a strong foundation in subject like math, science, and language. They worry that including sports in the curiculum will take away valuable time and resources from core academic subjects. Furthermore, not all students are interested in or good at sports, and some may prefer to focus on their studies rather than being forced to participate in athletics. In my oppinion, schools should aim for a balance between acadeemics and sports. While academic learning should be the top prior, sports can provide important benefits for student health, social development, and overall wellbeing. Schools can offer sports as an optional activity or elective course, rather than requiring it for all students. They can also look for ways to integrate physical activity into the academic curriculum, such as using movement breaks during lessons or incorporating sports-related math problems. By finding a middle ground, schools can support students' academic and athletic growth.

The pie charts show the destination of export goods in three countries in 2010.

The charts is showing where are the export goods going in 3 different places at 2010 year. It can be see that the countries have very different export locations vary greatly. Firstly, the country one exports mostly to Asia which is 60%. Then 25% of goods go to North America region and 10% go to Europe. Only very little 5% go to other countries which not in the list. In contrast, the country 2 sends 45% of its exports to Europe, more than four times than the 10% of country one. For the Asia, they export 25%, and for North America and other is 15% each. The chart below shows the expenditure of two countries on consumer goods in 2010.

In the chart, we can see for consumer goods in 2010 how much money was spended by two countrys. The first thing that is noticable is Turkey has spended much more on all item than Ireland in this year, exept for photographic film which they spended equal amounts. If we looking closer to the details, for most of photographic equipments Turkey has spended about 80,000 units of their curency. Only for camera accesories they spended a little more, 100,000 units. This is the oposite for Ireland, which spended only around 30,000 on most categorys like camera, tripods/lenses, but a little bit higher 50,000 for accesories of camera. In conclusoin, the chart cleary shows that Turkey is a country which like to spend alot more for this type of items to compare with Ireland. The reason could be maybe Turky has more population or people there prefering these goods than Irish peoples, but we cannot know for sure without more informations. It will be interesting to look also how these spendings change in more recent years like 2015 or 2020.

In the last decade, there has been a great increase in global air travel. What do you think are the reasons for this and do you think it is a good thing?

Nowadays our world is more increased in gloval air travel in the past of 10 years. There are many reasons and I think it has good nd bad points, that I will explain in this esay. Firstly, the prices for tickets of plane decreased and becomed more afforadble for a general population of the world. Plus, low-cost companies appeared and made even more cheaper flights available which even stydents and yound people can use. Secondly, with internet and social medias, people share more about traveling and journeys, motivating their families and friends to also travel. This creat a kind of effect that spread the idea to tralvel more in people mind. I beleive this increase is both good and bad. The advantage is that people can see more of world and open their mind to other culturs, cuisines and lands. Also, people understand better world and have more empathy for the diffrent cultures. But on the opposite side this trend has some bad consequenses. The air traffic is very poluting for the environnement, and it is responsible of polution that cause climate changes. Also, i think it is not always good that evereybody can travel easily because it let mass tourism damage beautifel places of the nature and ancient monuments. In the conclusino, I think incresead air trael is like a coin with two different faces. While it let us to explore the great diversity of our world and develop an open mind, it has big negative impacts that must be menaged.

Leaders and directors in an organization are normally older people. Some people think younger leaders would be better. Do you agree or disagree?

It is true that in most organizations, leaders and directors are tend to be older peoples. While some individuals believing that younger leaders could be more effective, I personally disagree with this perspective. There are several compelling reasons to prefer older leaders over younger one. Firstly, older leaders usually have much more experience than their younger counterparts. They have spent many years working in their field and have accumulated a wealth of knowledge and expertise. This experience allows them to make more informed decisions and navigate complex challenges more effectively. Younger leaders, on the other hand, may lack the necesary experience and may struggle to handle difficult situations. Secondly, older leaders often have well-established networks and relationships within their industry. They have built strong connections with other leaders, partners, and stakeholders over the years. These relationships can be incredibly valuable when it comes to securing resources, forging partnerships, and driving organizational growth. Younger leaders may not have had the time to develop such extensive networks, putting them at a disadvantage. Finally, older leaders tend to have a deeper understanding of the culture and values of their organization. They have witnessed the evolution of the company over time and have a clearer sense of its identity and purpose. This understanding allows them to align their leadership style with the organization's core principles and make decisions that are consistent with its long-term vision. Younger leaders may bring fresh perspectives but may also struggle to fully grasp the intricacies of the organization's culture. In conclusion, while younger leaders can certainly bring energy and new ideas to an organization, I believe that older leaders are generally better equipped to lead effectively. Their experience, networks, and deep understanding of the organization's culture make them well-suited for leadership roles. Of course, there will always be exceptions, and some young leaders may prove to be exceptional. However, in most cases, I would argue that organizations are better served by leaders who have the wisdom and expertise that comes with age.

In some countries, secondary schools aim to provide a general education across a range of subjects. In others, children focus on a narrow range of subjects related to a particular career. Which do you think is appropriate in today's world?

Some countries provides education in secondary schools across various subjects, whereas secondary schools in some other countries let students focus only on few subjects related to their future career. In my opinion, in today's world, it is more suitable for students at secondary level to study wide range of subjects. Firstly, learning multiple subjects help students to improve their skills in different area. For example, maths can help students to enhance logic skills and science subjects can improve critical thinking. Moreover, If students learns different subjects, they can understand which subject is more interesting for them and which subject they enjoy most. This understanding can help students to make decision about their future career. On the other hand, learning only limited subjects related to a career may be less effective. Firstly reason is that students at secondary level may not be sure about what career to choose in future. If they study only career-focused subjects, they may not get chance to change their field later. Moreover, even if a student have decided about their career, learning only subjects related to that career may limit their thinking ability. They may not be able to think out of the box and may struggle in other areas of life. In conclusion, I believe that secondary school should provide education in a variety of subjects to help students improve their skills and make informed decisions about their future career. Limiting the subjects to career-focused ones may not be the best approach in today's world.

Doing an enjoyable activity with a child can develop better skills and more creativity than reading. To what extent do you agree? Use reasons and specific examples to explain your answer.

I am agree that doing an enjoyable activity with a child can develop better skills and more creativity than reading. There are several reason for this. Firstly, when a child is doing an enjoyable activity, they are more engaged and motivated to learn. For example, if a child is playing with blocks and building a tower, they are using their imagination and problem-solving skills to figure out how to make the tower taller and more stable. This is more engaging than simply reading a book about building towers. The child is actively participating in the learning process, rather than just passively absorbing information. Secondly, doing an enjoyable activity allows for more hands-on learning and experimentation. When a child is reading a book, they are limited to the information presented in the text. However, when they are doing an activity, they can try different approaches and see what works best. For example, if a child is painting a picture, they can experiment with different colors and techniques to create their desired effect. This allows for more creativity and self-expression than simply following the instructions in a book. Finally, doing an enjoyable activity with a child also provides an opportunity for bonding and social interaction. When a parent or caregiver is doing an activity with a child, they can have conversations and share ideas. This can help to build the child's language skills and social skills. In contrast, reading is often a solitary activity that does not provide the same level of social interaction and bonding. In conclusion, i believe that doing an enjoyable activity with a child can develop better skills and more creativity than reading. It allows for more engagement, hands-on learning, and social interaction. While reading is still an important activity for children, it should be balanced with other types of learning experiences.

Many people believe that social networking sites (such as Facebook) have had a huge negative impact on both individuals and society. To what extent do you agree?

In my opinion i agreed that sites of social networking like Facebook have big negative affect for individual persons and hole society. There are severel reasons why i think like this and i will explane them in detail way. First of all, social network take a lot of time from people lifes. Instead of meeting friends or family members in real, many person spend hours after hours on Facebook and other same sites. They addicted to scrolling throught posts, photos and videos, often of people which they barely knows. This lead to wasting the time, that could be spend in much more productive ways, for example learning new skill or doing sport activity. Secondly, i believe that social media have very bad influence for mental health of people, specialy young ones. Constantly watching ideal lifes of others can caused feeling of loneliness, envy and depression. Many research show that more time we spending on Facebook, the more unhappy we fell. Moreover, cyber bulling is very big problem of this days. Nasty comment and messages can really destroy life of sensitive persons. On the other hand, we must addmit that social network also have some positive impact. They allow us to stay in touch with family and friend that live far away. We can share our lifes with them and be a part of their lifes to. However, in my opinion this advantage are not as significant as all the drawback mentioned before. In conclusion, i strongly believe that affect of social media is more negative then positive. We should focus more on real relationship and hobies, instead of wasting time online.

"Violence in playgrounds is increasing. However, it is important that parents should teach children not to hit back at bullies."

Nowadays, there is increasingly common to see violence happen on playground. It is big problem that need to be address. I agree that parent have important role to teach their children to not fight back against bully. Firstly, violence at playground is bad for child development. When children see other children use violence, they may think it is normal behaviour. This can make them more likely to also use violence theirself. And if child is victim of violence, it can cause trauma and make them afraid to go to playground. The playground should be safe and fun place for all child, not place of fear. Secondly, parent are best people to teach child good behaviour. Children learn by example, so if parent show kindness and peacefulness then child more likely to do the same. Parent can teach child to talk to teacher or adult if they are bully, instead of trying to fight. This will help stop the cycle of violence. Parent spend most time with child so have big influence. In conclusions, I strongly agree that rising of violence at playground is concerning trends. Parent play key role to teach children alternatif way to deal with bully, like tell adult, instead of hit back. If all parent do this, playground can be safe and happy for child again.

Many manufactured food and drink products contain high levels of sugar, which causes many health problems. Sugary products should be made more expensive to encourage people to consume less sugar. Do you agree or disagree?

In this modern era, so many of the food and drink we are buy from store contain very high level of sugar. This high sugar is cause of numerus health issue like obesity, diabetes, heart problem and more. Some argue that increase price of sugary product will make people buying and eat less of it. I am agree with this view. Firstly, when price of any thing goes up, demand will go down. Its a simple concept of economics. If sugary food and drinks are make more costly, then many people wont able to buy it or will buy much less. This will lead to lower cunsumption of sugar, which is good for health of people. Just like when taxes on ciggaretes were increased, many people quit smoking. Same will happen with sugar tax. Secondly, goverment can use the extra money collected from higher price to fund health care system. Treating the diseases coused by too much sugar is become very costly for goverment hospitals. If people eat less sugar, then less money need to be spent on treating those illness in future. Also the tax money can be use for awareness compaigns to educate peeple about dangers of high sugar diet. In conclusion, I beleive that its a good idea to make sugary foods and drink more expensive. It will reduce consumpion of sugar and also generate funds for healthcare and awarness programs. This will lead to better health for individuals and hole society.

Nowadays older people often live in retirement homes with people of their age instead of living with their children. Is it a positive or negative development?

In modern world, elderly people is often living in retirement community with peoples of same age rather then living with they children. This is positive development in my opinion. Firstly, older people have different needs and interest compare to young people. They may prefering a quiet and peaceful environment, while young people tend to be more active and outgoing. Living in retirment homes with other seniors allow them to socialize and engage in activities that suit their preferences. For example, they can play chess, do gardening, or just chat with each other without feeling like burden to their children. Secondly, caring for elderly parents can be challenge for working children, especially if parent have health problems or disabilities. Retirement home provide professional care and support, such as medical assistance, meal preparation, and housekeeping. This ensure that older people receive proper care and attention, while their children can focus on their careers and family life. However, some peoples may argue that living in retirement home can lead to isolation and loneliness, as elderly people are separated from their family. But i believe that with regular visits and communication, family bonds can still be maintained. Moreover, many retirement community organize family events and activities to encourage interaction between residents and families. In conclusion, i believe that living in retirement home is positive development for older people. It provides them with a suitable environment, social interaction and professional care, while allowing their children to balance their responsibilities. As longas family ties are nurtured, retirement homes can be a beneficial option for elderly care.
